The Role: The Senior Manager - Finance will oversee all financial activities within the organization, focusing on payroll management, income tax compliance, statutory returns, and providing accurate Management Information Systems (MIS) to senior leadership. He will be responsible for overseeing the human resources functions within the organization. This includes driving recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance with labour laws, and contributing to the overall HR strategy aligned with the company’s objectives. They will ensure timely and compliant financial operations and strategic financial decision-making across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting:

  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS for management, offering strategic insights into the company’s financial performance.
  2. Financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis, profitability reports, and expense controls.
  3. Manage cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity and adequate working capital utilisation.
  4. Oversee banking relationships and optimize borrowing requirements for the institution’s operational needs.


2. HR & Payroll Management:

  1. Recruitment Policy, Exit Policy and Periodic Assessment.
  2. Oversee the payroll processing function to ensure timely and accurate employee salary disbursements.
  3. Ensure adherence to labour laws and applicable payroll tax requirements, compliance with Income Tax (TDS) regulations, employee provident fund (EPF), and other statutory obligations.


3. Taxation, Audits & Statutory Returns:

  1. Manage the company’s direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, income tax (TDS and advance tax), and other relevant taxes.
  2. Oversee tax audits, planning, and filings, ensuring all statutory returns are filed timely and accurately (including Income Tax Returns, GST Returns, etc.).
  3. Ensure timely filing and compliance with statutory returns and other regulatory requirements set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), SEBI, and other relevant authorities.
  4. Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors to resolve tax-related issues or disputes.


Skills & Qualifications:


Educational Qualifications:

  1. Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA (Finance) / or equivalent financial qualifications.


Experience:

  1. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in financial management roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity within a financial institution.
  2. Experience in handling payroll, income tax compliance, statutory returns, and MIS reporting.


Skills:

  1. Extensive knowledge of Indian tax laws (Income Tax Act, GST), accounting standards (Ind-AS), and statutory filing requirements.
  2. Expertise in payroll management, employee benefits administration, and TDS compliance.
  3. Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
